Trump signs spending bill

Have we forgotten the fate of young immigrants? On Thursday, February 8th The New York Times posted an article written by Thomas Kaplan regarding Trump's signature on a budget deal that will increase government spending’s by billions of dollars. The house gave its final approval after a long debate that kicked in on Friday morning with Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky being the primary cause of the delay over. Kentucky’s senator demanded that the House vote on an amendment that would have kept in place the previous strict caps on government spending rather than adding to the USA’s 23 trillion-dollar debt. This delay also caused a temporary government to shut down. While the house was able to come to an agreement regarding a spending bill for military and disaster relief, some Republican members coupled with Democratic dissenters filled with consternation that the deal was doing nothing for undocumented immigrants. Representative Nancy Pelosi of California who is the democratic leader is one who is playing a crucial factor in the standing for these Dreamers. Siding along with two other high ranking house democrats they continue to reiterate that a public statement is done regarding the scheduling of a vote on a DACA (Differed Action for Childhood Arrival) bill.

The fate of these dreamers has been a crucial question since Trump decided to end DACA back in September and since then has been left as an open-ended reform. Although Mr. Ryan did clarify that whatever bill the house supports will be one that president trump will sign. But what now? Could the split calculations about the best way to exert influence over immigration cause another shutdown?
I feel that this article deserved readers attention because it contains a valuable and very informative message regarding the news of today. In addition, I feel that it provided a well-organized outlook with answers to the right questions for those whose lives are being affected by the pushback of an immigration bill.
